The Molly Chittenden Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was organized in 1912. Our name honors Molly Chittenden as nine of our twenty-three founding members were direct descendants of her. Both Molly’s father, Jared Chittenden, and her husband, Caleb Fowler, were Revolutionary War soldiers. While Molly lived her entire life in Guilford, Connecticut, by the early 20th century several of her descendants resided in Geauga County. It was after many family reunions that some of them decided to form a DAR chapter.

The Molly Chittenden Chapter, DAR, is comprised of a diverse group of women from Geauga and Eastern Cuyahoga County, Ohio who work together to implement and execute the mission of the National Daughters of the American Revolution: historic preservation, education, and patriotism to perpetuate the memory and spirit of American Independence, preserve the past for the future, and promote liberty and justice for all Americans.

The Molly Chittenden Chapter, DAR, is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, volunteer women’s service organization.

If you are interested in joining the DAR, you can find information on our Membership page.
